Our posting message has arrived. We’re moving to England! We’ll be there for the next three years. My husband will be working with NATO while we are there.
He is very pleased about this exciting opportunity and as a family we’re looking forward to the adventure of living in another country.
I visited England on an exchange when I was in secondary school and I very much enjoyed my time there. I am looking forward to exploring the country!
The kids have already discovered very old buildings like Gloucester Cathedral, which is home to a statue of Edward Jenner. He is credited with creating the smallpox vaccine, the world’s first vaccine.
It will be very easy for us to tour around Europe too. I am very excited for the children to be exposed to such rich and diverse cultures.
Anyway, as we learn more about how we go about an international move, I’ll keep writing. I know there will be a lot of work involved and I want to share everything I learn with my readers.
Who else is posted and where? Are you excited about it?
How marvelous! I’ve really enjoyed my visits to the U.K – I’ve been to Fountain’s Abbey, too – and living there for a few years sounds like a wonderful adventure.
Thanks Jeri. I’m really excited!.
Best posting! We lived in england for a year and thoroghly enjoyed our experience there! Travelling around europe is cheap and you will never run out of weekend adventures. Can’t wait to read more on your internation posting tips.
Thanks RC! I’ll write as much as I can!
Enjoy your time in the UK! We spent eighteen months at Kineton when my husband took the ATO course with the British Army. It was a fabulous opportunity to experience a different culture and to travel in Europe. Our son started school there and it was fascinating to see a different school system. Sadly no exciting posts in our immediate future. My husband leaves for Afghanistan tomorrow morning.
Thanks Nanette! It will be an exciting adventure. All the best to your husband on his Afghanistan tour. Stay strong while he’s gone!
